Replacement

1.	Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

Remove the rear wheel and tire (A) from rear hub .

Tightening torque:

88.2 ~ 107.8 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 79.5 lb-ft)

Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire (A).

Remove the mounting bolt (B) of the rear lower arm (A) and the rear carrier, while supporting the lower arm (A) with a jack as shown in the illustration.

Tightening torque:

107.9 ~ 117.7 N.m (11.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 79.6 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

Loosen the mounting nut (A) of the cross member and the rear lower arm, then remove the coil spring (B) by taking down the jack.

Tightening torque:

107.9 ~ 117.7 N.m (11.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 79.6 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector (A).

Tightening torque:

6.8 ~ 10.7 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 2.8 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)

6.	Disconnent the parking brake cable. (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake")

7.	Remove the rear brake caliper. (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake")

Remove the rear brake disc assembly (A) after loosen the screw (B).

Tightening torque:

4.9 ~ 5.9 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)

Remove the rear strut assembly (C) after loosen the bolt (A, B).

Tightening torque:

A : 49.0 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.0 ~ 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

B : 137.2 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.2 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

10.

Remove the split pin (B) and castle nut (C) from the assist arm (A).

Tightening torque:

78.5 ~ 98.0 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

11.	Using the SST (09568-4A000), disconnect the assist arm (A) from the carrier assembly.

Remove the carrier assembly (A) from the trailing arm after remove the mounting bolts.

Tightening torque:

44.1 ~ 53.9 N.m (4.5 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 32.5 ~ 39.7 lb-ft)

13.

Loosen the hub bearing mounting, and then remove the hub bearing from knuckle (A).

Tightening torque:

49.0 ~ 58.8 N.m (5.0 ~ 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 43.4 lb-ft)

14.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

1.	Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear.

2.	Check the rear axle carrier for cracks.

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Use a SST (09581-11000) when installing the brake caliper assembly.
