Description and operation

Description

•	Line pressure control solenoid valve is a VFS (Variable Force Solenoid) type.

•	When TCM supplies variable current to solenoid valve, line pressure is controlled by solenoid valve.

Repair procedures

Inspection

1.	Switch "OFF" ignition.

2.	Remove the air cleaner. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")

3.	Disconnect the main connector (A).

Measure the resistance between ground terminal (10) and signal terminal (9).

Specification : 3.5 ± 0.2 Ω

Removal

1.	Remove the valve body assembly. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Valve Body")

2.	Disconnect the solenoid valve connector.

Remove the line pressure control solenoid valve (A) after removing the support bracket by loosening a bolt (B).

Tightening torque :

9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Perform the procedures below after installing.

1)	Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the KDS/GDS. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal will not clear the DTCs. Clear DTCs using the KDS/GDS at all times.

2)	Reset the automatic transaxle adaptive values using the KDS/GDS.

3)	Perform the TCM adaptive values learning procedure. (Refer to Automatic Transaxle Control System - "Adjustment")
