Put on gloves to protect your hands.

Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces
without marring the surface.
|
• |
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
|

1. |
Remove the Tailgate trim.
(Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Trim")
|
2. |
Disconnect the Tailgate latch connector (A).
|
3. |
Remove the Tailgate latch assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolts
(A).
Tightening torque :
6.9 - 10.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf·m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb·ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Make sure the Tailgate locks/unlocks and opens/closes
properly.

|
Adjust the Tailgate alignment.

|
Make sure the connectors are connected in properly.
